Back to work for 2012

January is keeping me busy already. I'm finishing up orders from 2011 and I've already done a few shoots this year....all babies :)
Plus today was the glorious back to school day for the kids. They wanted to go back despite Ethan's worries about everything being changed and different. Amelia only came home to report that her little friend got a hair cut. That was the big news of the day in grade one. So this marks back to normal in our house.
Today however was a bit of a sad one in that we sent our cow Flynn Ryder (yes that's his name) off to the butcher's. They came with the truck and he followed my husband right into the back. First though giving him a big slobbery kiss which just made us feel worse. Ethan had   bid on him at the auction back in May and he's now around 600lbs of pure Black Angus. As I drove the kids to school this morning they both turned and waved goodbye to him. They are pretty good kids for not getting upset and realizing where food comes from. Ethan has worked all summer/fall feeding Flynn and watering him. You used to be able to go in the pen and play with him but he's got so big he doesn't realize how big he is.
I however did last week when he got out and went for a canter down our road straight into traffic. Thank goodness for a driver who got out and stopped ( i think out of shock from almost hitting a cow) and helped me get him back home!
Weather is still crazy warm for January, no snow, no tobogganing or skiing but i am so not complaining. Don't tell the husband!
This week I'm delivering 3 orders, next week I have another baby shoot and going to an awards ceremony where I just might be bringing something home. Stay tuned for more of that next week.
Mr Flynn Ryder
Welcome to 2012.
